Aura Hirschman

Aura has a B.S. in Education, an M.S. in Rehabilitation Counseling and a Graduate Certificate in Assistive Technology and Accessible Design. She is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) and Assistive Technology Professional (ATP). In addition to being a Senior Counselor (specializing with students who are blind or have visual impairments, as well as working with students who have learning disabilities, ADHD, and/or autism) at the UWM Accessibility Resource Center, Aura coordinates the Alternative Text Program. Before coming to ARC, she was an Instructor at the Student Accommodation Services department at Milwaukee Area Technical College and an Outreach and Training Coordinator for the Rehabilitation Research Design & Disability (R2D2) Center, UWM. Additionally, she has a experience in teaching, research, grant administration, conference coordination and presenting, career development and website development. Aura co-chairs the Americans with Disabilities Act and Accessibility Advisory Committee (ADAAAC) on campus.

Aura loves what she does and feels it a privilege to be able to work with students, as well as faculty and staff at UWM!
