She carries both CI and CT certification from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID).

From the very beginning, she has loved working in the post-secondary environment where faculty, students, and staff are kept abreast of current trends in education and research. Outside of UWM, she is also a creative writer, teacher, and editor with her own short stories and essays published online and in print.
