Join us for the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) Accessibility Resource Center (ARC) biennial Preview Day!
UWM is proud of the quality of support services available to students with disabilities. The UWM ARC offers a “Preview Day” to give high school sophomores, juniors and seniors, as well as teachers, counselors and parents, a chance to learn more about our services. Preview Day will include the process and procedures for requesting academic accommodations at the post secondary level, a campus tour, sessions on accommodations, other support services, self advocacy and a student panel.
ARC provides services to students with a range of disabilities. Some of these disabilities include: attention deficit disorder, autism spectrum disorder, blind and visually impaired, chronic health conditions, learning disability, medical disability, mobility disability, psychological disability such as anxiety, depression, students who are deaf or hard of hearing and students with a traumatic brain injury.
Accommodation services may include:
- Alternative testing
- Alternative formats (e.g. audio, electronic)
- Assistive technology
- Captioned and described media
- Note taking assistance
- Real-time captioning and sign language interpreting
The next Preview Day will be held in 2020.
