The University of Wisconsin\u2013Milwaukee and\u00a0ACUE\u00a0are partnering to offer\u00a090 fully funded professional learning seats\u00a0for faculty and instructional staff. This grant\u2011supported program provides access to ACUE\u2019s research\u2011backed, nationally recognized courses in effective teaching\u2014at\u00a0no cost\u00a0to participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Beginning February 9 and running through the end of the year, participants spend 2\u20133 hours a week learning, applying new practices in their courses, and reflecting on their impact. Interested participants choose learning pathways featuring in\u2011person, online, or nursing\u2011specific pedagogical practices. This grant\u2011supported opportunity equips faculty with evidence-based strategies shown to boost student retention, strengthen belonging, and close achievement gaps. Upon completion, instructors earn ACUE\u2019s nationally recognized Certification in Effective College Instruction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Interested instructors <a href=\"https:\/\/portal.acue.org\/pages\/uwm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>must sign up by January 25<\/strong><\/a> to join one of this year\u2019s three cohorts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"aboutthecourse\">About the Course<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Beginning\u00a0<strong>February 9<\/strong>\u00a0and running through\u00a0<strong>December<\/strong> <strong>2026<\/strong>, participants will engage in a highly flexible professional development experience requiring\u00a0<strong>2\u20133 hours per week<\/strong>, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>1 hour of learning<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>1 hour of applying practices in your own courses<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>1 hour of reflection<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Participants will move through the program in&nbsp;<strong>cohorts of 30<\/strong>, with options to focus on:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In\u2011person teaching<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Online teaching<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Nursing\u2011based examples<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>ACUE\u2019s courses are consistently rated as engaging and immediately applicable, and the evidence\u2011based practices included have been shown to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Increase student retention<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strengthen belonging and achievement<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Close achievement gaps<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Instructors who complete earn\u00a0<strong>ACUE\u2019s nationally recognized Certification in Effective College Instruction<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"howtojoin\">How to Join<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ninety<\/strong>\u00a0funded seats are available, and these will fill quickly.<br><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/portal.acue.org\/pages\/uwm\">Instructors must sign up by January 25 to participate.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Don\u2019t miss this opportunity to join one of three instructor cohorts this year and elevate your teaching with practices you can apply right away.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>90 Free Professional Development Spots for Instructors \u2014 Apply by January 25!
