DESCRIPTION:AI as Catalyst:\n\n\n\nEmpowering Students to Focus on What Really Matters\n\n\n\nAre your students spending too much time on tasks that don’t meaningfully enhance their learning? Join us November 6th to learn how instructors Cynthia Brinich-Langlois and Joseph Mougel harnessed Artificial Intelligence (AI) in their classes to enhance student creativity and efficiency. By asking students to utilize AI tools in course work\, Dr. Brinich-Langlois and Mougel allowed students to focus more on core learning objectives\, spend less time on extraneous work\, all the while producing higher-quality material faster. This workshop will provide hands-on opportunities to incorporate AI into course activities within any discipline\, helping us see how AI technology can enhance rather than distract from our teaching goals. \n\n\n\nThis session will be held both in-person and online via Zoom. SUMMARY:Student Success in the Classroom Summit Follow Up
DESCRIPTION:Event Overview\n\n\n\nTo purpose of this event is to discuss data and develop actionable strategies aimed at enhancing student success and learning outcomes at UWM by improving retention\, graduation rates\, and course outcomes through intentional action in the classroom. This summit will focus on integrating instructor driven high-impact practices and inclusive excellence strategies within the classroom\, in alignment with UWM’s 2030 Strategic Plan\, which prioritizes student success as a moral imperative and a critical pathway to generational change. \n\n\n\nEvent Outcomes\n\n\n\nParticipants\, collaboratively with their teams\, will discuss key barriers and opportunities related to student success in their units\, identify a set of initiatives to enhance retention and graduation rates for students in their programs\, and develop an action plan for incorporating high-impact\, inclusive teaching practices into their curriculum. These outcomes will directly contribute to UWM’s mission to provide sustainable and impactful educational experiences that foster long-term success for our students and the broader community. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease speak to you department or business unit to register for this event.
