SUMMARY:Disillusioning AI Fellowship for UW Educators | Registration Reminder
DESCRIPTION:This event is a year-long program hosted by UW-Madison\, please register before the end of August to secure your spot!  \n\n\n\nSpecific dates will be determined by participants’ availability via survey results. \n\n\n\nOverview\n\n\n\nAre you an educator in higher education who works with diverse students? Are you intent on creating more diverse\, classroom environments? Have you been dabbling with artificial intelligence (AI) on your own? Are you interested in learning how it might or might not support your work in the classroom in responsible and equitable ways? Join us for this year’s Disillusioning AI Fellowship for Universities of Wisconsin Educators! \n\n\n\nWith the advent of generative AI\, teachers are faced with the difficult choice of trusting advanced technologies to take advantage of their transformative potential. Trusting educational AI is getting harder as these systems become less transparent\, less predictable\, and raise equity concerns. During this fellowship\, you will have the opportunity to collaborate and learn alongside fellow educators in higher education across the University of Wisconsin system to improve your AI literacy\, engage in hands-on exploration of AI tools\, and discuss what you’re learning with colleagues. Participants who successfully complete all program expectations will receive a $250 stipend. \n\n\n\nProgram Expectations\n\n\n\n\nAttend and participate in all six 3-hour virtual sessions\n\n\n\nComplete all activities by their assigned due date(s) to promote engagement and ensure understanding during live\, virtual sessions \n\n\n\nComplete a pre- and a post-fellowship survey \n\n\n\nReflect and provide feedback on each virtual session via an exit slip\n\n\n\nComplete pre- and post-surveys related to the use\, analysis\, and implementation of tools in your professional context \n\n\n\nUse\, analyze\, reflect on\, and write about AI in your professional context via Canvas discussion fora and written assignments\n\n\n\nCollaborate and iteratively reflect on value priorities and conflicts in a series of deliberation sessions\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLearn More About the Program\n\n\n\nRegister for All Sessions

DESCRIPTION:Overview\n\n\n\nJoin us for the All-Graduate Student Meet-and-Greet & Resource Fair on Monday\, August 24th from 4:30–6:00 PM in the UWM Union Ballroom\, immediately following the virtual New Graduate Student Orientation. This welcoming event is a great chance to connect with fellow new and returning graduate students\, start building connections\, and explore the many campus resources available to support your academic journey and well-being. Stop by resource tables to ask questions\, gather helpful information\, and meet staff from across campus. Feel free to come for the entire event or drop in and stay as long as you’d like—whatever works best for your schedule. You’re also welcome to bring a guest. Light refreshments will be served\, so come enjoy a relaxed\, friendly atmosphere as you kick off your graduate experience! \n\n\n\nAlso\, for new graduate students\, you can pick up your Panther ID Card at the Meet & Greet Resource Fair.
