UWM Male Advocate Applications Invited

The UWM Male Allies and Advocates project invites and encourages applications from male faculty or staff to serve as Advocates in the Advocates and Allies Program.  Training will be April 25-26.

UWM Advocates are expected to be active proponents of gender diversity and equality within their units:

  • Advocates meet monthly to discuss readings and plan Ally workshops.
  • Advocates support and attend gender equity events whenever possible.
  • The Advocates / Allies Program is a component of the UWM’s broader strategic initiatives aimed toward improving campus climate.
  • The Advocates will also be responsible for providing training for faculty men who volunteer to be Allies and for working closely with the Allies group. The selected Advocates will be trained by a trainer who has expertise in advocacy and comes from North Dakota State University.

Application Process: Please fill out the application form following this link by March 25, 2019: https://milwaukee.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_1ZyenXFXkrElY7H.
Applications will be reviewed by the Women’s Advisory Board.

Additional information about the Advocates as well as application information can be found on the Ombuds page.
