Dear Colleagues,

The Distinguished Professors kindly reminded me, and I wanted to show recognition for their work, in relation to the Tax Reform Bill:

In collaboration with Marija Gajdardziska-Josifovska, the Distinguished Professors wrote a carefully worded letter to Senators Ron Johnson and Tammy Baldwin about the major damage that would accrue from abolishing the student loan deduction from the tax code and including graduate student tuition fee remission as income in the calculation of income tax.  The letter was also sent to other key Republican Senators.  In addition, the letter was also distilled into a letter to the editor of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Take care,

Johannes Britz
Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs
