January 13, 2020  |  News & Events, Provost's Updates, Timely Announcements

Good morning, colleagues. Here is this week’s update from Academic Affairs.

Kudos

Jennifer Gutzman (Biological Sciences) received an NIH R03 grant for $152K from the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development titled, “Developmental models to determine the molecular mechanisms that cause MYH9-related diseases.” Congratulations, Jennifer!

Hobey Davies (Psychology) was selected to receive the Society of Pediatric Psychology’s Michael C. Roberts Award for Outstanding Mentorship.  Hobey was nominated by six former students, so this award reflects his positive and lasting impact on their careers and the field. He will be honored with the award at the Society of Pediatric Psychology Annual Conference (SPPAC) in the spring.  Bravo, Hobey!

From the Registrar’s Office

The Registrar’s Office is excited to announce a new Interactive Online Schedule of Classes! New features available include key word searches and filtering based on subject, career, campus, and school/college. If you have bookmarked the short url “uwm.edu/schedule,” it will redirect you to the new site. Previous schedules are archived on the RO website: SOC Archives. Because this new tool does not support syllabi uploads, departments are now asked to house those on their websites. If your department needs additional storage space on your site for this purpose, you can request that via the UWM WordPress Support Requests form.
