The Klotsche Center and Pavilion isn’t like other facilities where cardiovascular, weight machines and barbells are the only things offered as it’s related to wellness.  University Recreation offers so much more adding to your personal membership experience.

UREC prides ourselves by maximizing the use of facility space by providing a variety of services and programs where you can focus on what you need for a holistic wellness experience.  With your membership you have access to a variety of services including personal training, swim lessons and Group X classes specifically tailored to your own desires.  We offer a wide variety of fun, safe and effective classes to meet the needs of our participants. With over 50 classes offered per week during the fall & spring semesters, we have something for everyone! Choose from classes such as Core Crunch, Guts & Butts, Boot Camp, Zumba, Kickbox Blast, Group Strength, and Group Cycle.

Memberships with UREC also include access to the pool, racquetball, basketball and volleyball courts and an elevated track to meet your open recreation needs.  When you purchase a membership with UREC, you are getting more than just a place to go work out.  You are getting a whole community of people like you, people who want a place that they can call their own.

Membership Options

UWM Students
  • Enrolled UWM students currently attending on campus classes and paying segregated fees (semester and summer terms) have a membership to the Klotsche Center and Pavilion (KCP) using their Panthercard ID for the term identified below.

    • Winterim Term:
      • The Winterim term is included for those UWM students who have paid fall segregated fees..
      • UWM Students taking Winterim courses that meet on the UWM campus can purchase a Winterim Membership.
      • UWM Students who did not pay segregated fees in the fall semester are not eligible for a winterim membership, however, if they are enrolled in an on campus winterim course, they may purchase a winterim membership.
      • UWM Students who are first enrolled in the succeeding semester/term are not eligible for the current semester/term or term preceding the semester/term they are enrolled.
  • UWM students enrolled and attending off campus or online classes (semester or summer terms) that are not paying the segregated fee must pay the full segregated fee to use the KCP and University Recreation services.
    • Segregated fees can be paid in full at the UWM Bursars office in Michell Hall 285.
  • Spouse, Domestic Partner and Dependents may be added to a membership for an additional charge. (Dependents qualify if they are at least 18 years of age, but not older than 22 years of age.  Documentation will be required. Dependents under the age of 18 or older than 22 are not permitted to be added to a membership)
  • Summer Exception
    • Current UWM students enrolled in the previous term immediately preceding the summer term and not enrolled into classes during the summer may purchase a summer membership (previous term enrollment will be verified)

  • Visiting Professors at UWM may purchase a membership (documentation will be required).

Visiting Scholar
  • Visiting Scholars are guests or visitors to the UWM Campus that are working on research for UWM or their own University.
    • Annual, semester and summer options are available at the Faculty/Staff/Retiree rates.
UWM Alumni and Sustaining Contributor Alumni
  • UWM Alumni and Sustaining Contributors of the UWM Alumni Association may purchase Guest Passes by presenting their UWM Alumni Membership Card.
  • Upgrading to a Sustaining Contributors of the UWM Alumni Association qualifies you to purchase memberships.
  • Spouse, Domestic Partners and Dependents may be added to a current Sustaining Contributor Alumni Membership for an additional charge. They may also be eligible to receive a first membership and pay the full fee as a first membership, but the Sustaining Contributor of the UWM Alumni Association must be present.(Dependents qualify if they are at least 18 years of age, but not older than 22 years of age at time of sale.  Documentation will be required. Dependents under the age of 18 or older than 22 are not permitted to be added to a membership).

How to become a Sustaining Alumni?

  • Individuals not affiliated with UW-Milwaukee may become a Sustaining Contributor of the UWM Alumni Association by donation of $500 or more through the UWM Alumni Association.
  • Sustaining Contributors of the UWM Alumni Association are eligible to purchase a UREC Sustaining Alumni Membership.

 

Spouse, Domestic Partner and Dependent
  • Spouse is defined as two married individuals.
    • Please provide the following for verification prior to membership purchase
      • Marriage Certificate or,
      • Evidence of joint use of last name:
        • State issued pictured license with same address or,
        • Joint utility bill with same address and picture ID or,
        • Joint savings or checking account with address and picture ID or joint ownership of an automobile with address and picture ID or, (Title or Registration)
        • Joint use of and liability for credit cards with picture ID
  • Domestic Partners should complete the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Affidavit of Domestic Partnership form found below.
    • Student paperwork to be completed at the Dean of Students Office
    • Staff paperwork to be completed at Human Resources
    • Sustaining Alumni paperwork to be completed with UREC Associate Director
  • Dependents are the biological or legally adopted children (dependents qualify if they are at least 18 years of age, but not older than 22 years of age at time of sale.  Documentation will be required. Dependents under the age of 18 or older than 22 are not permitted to be added to a membership) not parents, siblings and/or roommates.
Guest Passes
  • Students and UREC members may sponsor 2 guests per day.
  • All guests must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Guests must present a valid, current government issued photo ID card, have an account with photo created, and sign a waiver of liability before purchase of a guest pass.
  • The guest pass allows access during normal operating hours, on the day of purchase, and use of a day lock and towel. Members must check out equipment for their guests. This includes the daily lock and towel. To re-enter the facility, guests, accompanied by their sponsor, must present their receipt and photo ID
  • UWM Alumni, Sustaining Contributor Members of the UWM Alumni Association and Faculty and Staff non-members may purchase a guest pass, for him or herself, without a sponsor. A UWM Alumni, Sustaining Contributor Member of the UWM Alumni Association card or Faculty/Staff PantherCard must also be presented.

How to Purchase A University Recreation Membership to the Klotsche Center and Pavilion
  • All memberships will be sold in person at the University Recreation Information Center in the Klotsche Center and Pavilion.
  • Please be prepared to present a valid state issued identification card.
  • A picture will be taken for the Membership Management System
  • You will also be required to review, agree to and sign a waiver.
  • UREC accepts cash, check and credit card.  (Payroll deduction is reserved for employees of UWM)
  • UREC has many different membership options, so please review the best option identified on this webpage.
  • At the bottom of this webpage there are documents that might assist you with your purchase. (e.g. Waiver, etc…)

University Recreation Locker Rentals

Student Locker Rentals

*Lockers are available for semester purchase with options for Full or Half Lockers.

All lockers must be renewed or emptied by the semester expiration date. Should you elect not to renew your locker during the renewal period, please remove all locker contents and place the lock back on your locker once finished. Failure to empty the locker by the stated date will result in UREC staff clearing the locker.  If the items are not collected within thirty (30) days they will become property of UREC and will be donated to a charity.

*Access to the Klotsche Center and Pavilion is required at time of sale or renewal for locker rentals.    It is up the UWM Student to ensure that they will be paying the Segregated Fee (Online only or off campus students do not pay segregated fees) to have access to the Klotsche Center and Pavilion prior to renewing or purchasing a membership.  Locker rentals are non-refundable.
**Student lockers are only rented by the semester and expire with the membership contract or at the end of each semester.

Daily Lockers

Daily lockers are available in both the men’s and women’s locker rooms.

  • Daily Lockers are free to UWM Students and UREC members for same-day use only.
  • Each student or member must provide his/her own lock or rent one for the day.
  • Locks are available for rental at the Equipment Room for $1/day*.

Any locks remaining on daily lockers when the Klotsche Center and Pavilion closes will be cut-off and any items remaining in the locker will be cleared and stored.  To receive your items back you will be charged a $10 fee.  If the items are not collected within thirty (30) days they will become property of UREC and will be donated to a charity.

*Locks are to be returned the day they are rented.
