There’s no place like home, a.k.a. University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Growing up in the heart of Wisconsin’s Northwoods (Village of Athens, population 1,105), finding a comfortable campus community was a priority in my college search. UWM is located on Milwaukee’s Upper Eastside, a walkable residential neighborhood surrounded by green parks, nature trails, coast-like beaches, cozy restaurants, trendy shops, and historical venues for theater, film, and live music. All the charm a small college town, and yet our students are just minutes away from the advantages of an emerging metropolitan area. After my first campus visit I was ready to transition from my heartland hometown to the fresh city skyline of Milwaukee.

As a student at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, my days were full of activities in-between studying for my degree in Education. Playing clubs sports, volunteering in local schools, and cheering on our Panthers to another NCAA tournament run kept me busy, but perhaps the most rewarding experience came from working on campus. As a resident assistant, orientation leader, financial aid mentor, and student success mentor, I found a passion for helping college students succeed which lead me to pursue my masters in Administration Leadership, Higher Education emphasis.

I am proud to serve the students of the Fox Valley and Central Wisconsin areas. My goal is to help students find the best college program for them. I look forward to seeing you at a college fair, high school visit, and/or UWM campus event. Find me on Twitter @MrRiehle or please feel free to email me your questions ajriehle@uwm.edu.
