Admission to the Translation Program
All Applicants – Translation Qualifying Exam
All applicants must pass a qualifying exam to be considered for admission; the exam requirement can be waived for professional translators enrolling in continuing education courses. For more information and to register for the exam, please go to Qualifying Exam.
Applying to the MA or the Graduate Certificate in Translation program
Application procedures are different for the MA program and the Graduate Certificate program. Admissions requirements also vary for US applicants and International applicants. For more information on admissions, please see MA Admissions or Graduate Certificate Admissions.
Enrolling for Continuing Education Credits (Non-Degree)
Translation professionals who wish to enroll in courses for ATA-approved continuing education credits should apply to the UWM Graduate School as Non-Degree students. Please e-mail Translation & Interpreting Studies Chair, Professor Lorena Terando (firstname.lastname@example.org) for information.
