Need a new computer?

Students and UWM faculty/staff have finance options available with resources conveniently located on campus!

  • Students may have additional financial aid options. Some may need to submit a Budget Adjustment Request (Select from the Miscellaneous Forms for the appropriate year) while others may be able to apply for a PLUS or Private Loan without the Request form. Reach out to a Student Financial Service Center Advisor for your specific case.
  • Along with their own financial institutions, Faculty/Staff may use a UW Credit Union personal loan to purchase a computer.
  • Departmental Purchases have specific policies and requirements for purchasing computers and other hardware.

Financial Aid

You might have additional financial aid options to help you purchase a new computer. Financial aid is first applied toward any charges on your PAWS account. If your charges are paid, and you have additional financial aid, you can use that funding to purchase a computer.

If your current financial aid does not cover all your expected costs, the Student Financial Service Center can help you review any additional options you may have.
Not sure if you’ll get a refund check? Try the Total Cost Estimator.

If you are looking for additional funding, learn about PLUS and private loan options.

Learn More about adjustments that can be made to help you borrow additional loans to purchase a computer. Select from the Miscellaneous Forms for the appropriate year and choose Budget Adjustment Request.
