Student Employee Leadership Programs

These programs are designed to assist student employees at UWM to build skills and leadership competencies that can be applied within their campus work setting and beyond.

 Student Employee Leadership Program  – Designed as supplemental training and leadership development for student employees, the Student Employee Leadership Program offers workshops during the fall and spring semester to provide paraprofessional staff additional skill-building in the areas of: Time Management, Communication, Customer Service, Conflict Resolution, Confrontation, Diversity, Ethics, Problem Solving, and Technical Skills. Professional staff throughout the Division of Student Affairs are invited to lead sessions, and are encouraged to offer these opportunities to their student staff.

 Union Student Leader Training and UWM GROW – The Student Leadership Program provides monthly training sessions for the cohort of students with managerial responsibilities within the UWM Student Union. New this year, we will be piloting the UWM GROW Program for supervisors, modeled after the Iowa GROW Program.
