Fiber Arts Community Circle

Date: Every other Monday beginning Sept. 18
Time: 5:00-7:00pm
Join a community of fiber artists and learn something new! We welcome all knit and crochet enthusiasts, weavers, embroiderers, screenprinters, patchmaker, activists and makers of every level. Bring your materials and a desire to learn and share your work. Sewing needles, knitting needles and yarn are also available for purchase at the SACC.


Zine Circle

Date: Every other Tuesday beginning Sept. 12
Time: 2:00-3:30pm
Learn the basics of zine-making at the SACC! Come early, come late, all are welcome – work as independently or codependently as you wish. Zines are self-published booklets and lend themselves to many different mediums – come try it out and make something to share! Invite friends! Free materials are available with student membership and copies can be made at a discounted price.


Tie-Dyeing T-Shirts

Date: Saturday, Sept. 2

Time: 11:00am-3:00pm (Or until all supplies are gone!)

Tie-Dye your very own t-shirt with us at the SACC. Supplies are limited – bring your own t-shirt if you want to dye more than one!

SACC Take and Make


Date: Tuesday, Sept. 19

Time: 11:00am-2:00pm

Make & Take a small project from each if our five areas (photos, metals, print, fibers & ceramics) in the Union Concourse – including a pinch pot from our semesterly ‘Make a Pot, Take a Pot.’

Artist Fair

Date: Thursday, Oct. 5

Time: 10:00am – 4:00pm

Swing by the Union Concourse to browse through handmade art including prints, jewelry, mugs, soaps & more before visiting other Harvest Fair activities in Spaights Plaza!

Bring Your Family to the SACC

Date: Saturday, Oct. 7

Time: 11:00am-5:00pm 

While your loved ones visit for Family Weekend, make sure to visit the SACC so you all can complete our free Project of the Week: Paper Gems & Photo Coasters.

Drop in Glaze Workshops

Date: Wednesday, Oct. 18 & Thursday, Nov. 16

Time: 5:00-6:00pm (both dates)

Bring any & all glazing questions & ceramic pieces to these free, open workshops meant to make glazing a more comfortable experience.

Open Metals Workshop: Enameling

Date: Thursday, Oct. 19

Time: 1:00-4:00pm

Drop in anytime during this free & open workshop to learn how to enamel on metal.

Dia de los Muertos Altar Workshops

Date: Tuesday, Oct. 24, 1:00-4:00pm

Wednesday, Oct. 25, 4:00-7:00pm

Thursday, Oct. 26, 1:00-4:00pm

Stop by any of these three workshops to learn the significance of the Mexican holiday Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) and create an ofrendita in honor of loved ones who have passed away. Ofrenditas (little altars) are displays created to remember the dead, whose spirits are said to return to us during this time of year. Bring any special photos or mementos to include in your altar. All other supplies will be provided. Optionally, altars will be displayed in the Union Concourse as part of the Dia de los Muertos celebration November 1-3, including a reception with performances on Nov. 2 from 11:30am-1pm. This event is free and open to UWM students, faculty, and staff.

Marble Your Own Scarf

Date: Tuesday, Nov. 14
Time: 1:00- 4:00pm or until supplies run out
Join us in the Union Concourse to learn the magical technique of marbling on fabric to create your own, colorful card. Supplies are limited so get there early!

Panther Pause

Date: Friday, Dec. 15
Time: 11:00am-3:00pm
Make a craft or two with us at Panther Pause to relax and recharge before finals!
