The Testing Center can help you whether you are taking a test to qualify for admission, to find out where you should be placed in UWM courses, to earn credit toward your degree or to attend graduate school. All new freshmen are required to take placement tests to determine their eligibility in math and/or English and have the option of taking placement exams in chemistry and foreign language. If your native language is other than English, it is recommended that you take the English as a Second Language-Placement in Composition Test (ESL-PIC). Transfer and re-entry students may be required to take placement tests depending on previous coursework and intended major.
National tests are those exams that include the ACT, post-graduate admission tests such as the GRE and LSAT and exams for entrance into education programs. The College Level Exam Program (CLEP) is a series of examinations that allows you to earn college credit for what you already know. The UWM Testing Center administers these tests on various weekends throughout the year.

You can register for any of the tests offered at testregistration.uwm.edu. You’ll need your UWM Campus ID to use the on-line registration form.
