Student Support in Spanish

UWM STUDENT SUCCESS CENTER (SSC)SUPPLEMENTAL INSTRUCTION AND TUTORING SERVICES for SPANISH 103, 104, 203, 204

Free one-hour tutoring sessions are available for students in SPA 103, 104, 203, and 204 through the Student Success Center (SSC). Our tutors are undergraduate students who have already taken and been successful in these courses. They can assist with explanations (in English) and lots of practice activities to give you some support outside of class. They also can help be providing study tips based on their own experiences as language learners. Students in SPA 103, 104, 203, and 204 who attend 3 or more sessions of SSC tutoring over the course of the semester will earn 5 participation points to add to their grade.

DEPARTMENT OF SPANISH & PORTUGUESE SPANISH CONVERSATION CLUB Ñ

Want to get more practice speaking in Spanish? Stop by the Spanish program’s conversation club, which we call Club Ñ. This group is open to students at all levels of Spanish, including beginners. You don’t have to be a student in our Spanish classes to attend. We welcome UWM faculty/staff, community members, etc. to join as well.

It takes place on Tuesdays from 10:00-11:00 and Thursdays from 1:00-2:00. This is a very informal club—just a place to chat in Spanish with other students or get help with your pronunciation, grammar, etc. Club Ñ will take place in person this semester in Curtin Hall 739. Students who attend Club Ñ will earn 1 participation point for each session they attend (up to 10 over the course of the semester). So come get some practice with your fellow students!
