It is with great pleasure that I announce the Helen Bader School of Social Welfare’s 50th Anniversary Scholarship Gala, Investing in the Future.
The purpose of our event is not only to celebrate, but more importantly to raise funds for student scholarships. We have set a goal of raising $100,000.
For many of our students, the pursuit of their degrees and their passion for criminal justice or social work is stymied by heavy debt. This obstacle is felt most by our undergraduate students, many of whom are the first in their families to go to college.
For the past 50 years, we have educated and prepared students for entry-level and advanced careers in human service professions. We’ve continually advanced knowledge regarding social welfare issues, and provided quality services to people in need. What better way to invest in our students, our communities, and the future than through student scholarships?
I hope you will attend our event to celebrate with us and support students who will go on to change the world for the better. Our event keynote speaker Kimberley Cy Motley received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in criminal justice from our school and is presently the first foreign litigator in the criminal courts of Afghanistan.
Please help us make this a successful celebration by attending the gala. You may want to consider becoming a sponsor as well.
I look forward to seeing you at the gala on October 15th!
