May graduate Taylor Koss competed for another gold medal in the 2017 Deaflympics. Koss is one of the best hurdlers in Panther history and the national record holder in deaf 400m hurdles. Our followers wished him luck and the post reached almost 100,000 people. The video had 40,356 views, 656 reactions, 28 comments and 348 shares.

We also scouted out the best deals for a meal in Milwaukee! We know college students are on a budget, so we showcased four restaurants to give students the best bang for their buck. Scattered throughout four different Milwaukee neighborhoods, remember to check out Riverwest Co-Op Cafe, Tandem, Vanguard and BelAir Cantina. These tasty treats earned a reach of nearly 30,000, 9,383 video views, 230 reactions, 31 comments and 63 shares.

Students love to hang out at Milwaukee’s classic locations, like BelAir Cantina or Bradford Beach. However, we needed to share not-so-well-known spots that are just as great! After eleven days of our favorite tunes, we had to say goodbye to Summerfest’s 50th Anniversary Festival. We couldn’t imagine anything better than this year’s musical acts, but we know that Summerfest tops itself every year! Here’s hoping next year is the best festival yet. Our farewell received 5,932 impressions, 77 likes and 7 retweets.

This month, the Brewers helped us in thanking our student veterans from the Military and Veteran’s Resource Center. We got them down on the field and up on the jumbo-tron at Miller Park for a big, warm welcome and receiving 5,564 impressions, 37 likes and 5 retweets.

Our Instagram family went crazy for this adorable pup! On a hot day, there’s no better solution than taking a quick dip, and the cuteness that ensued earned this fuzzy friend 1,098 likes.
Who doesn’t love a good fireworks show?! With a view like this, we weren’t surprised that this shot received 1,024 likes.
Our gardeners really went all out this month with flowers grown in the form of “UWM.” We couldn’t resist grabbing a quick photo, which earned 993 likes.
Milwaukee is a fun-filled city with plenty to explore, so this month on Snapchat #UWMSocial showcased some of our personal favorites. We took a trip on the Green Line, headed over to the third ward, took a break at Bradford Beach and ended the day with a walk in Lake Park! If you’re looking for a fun way to spend a day, be sure to check it out.
With all of this amazing content, we can’t imagine a better month. But all good things must come to an end, and we look forward to what August will bring!
