The Chancellor’s Extended Cabinet, along with Honorary SECC Chair Coach LaVall Jordan, took part in the United Way’s Shoebox Project.

The Shoebox Project is an initiative that allows organizations to purchase and pack hygiene supplies to be distributed to those in need by the organization of their choice. UWM’s recipent is the Meta House, an organization that allows women going through drug and/or alcohol rehabilitation the opportunity to keep custody of their children.

Members of the cabinet assembled 100 boxes and the United Way coordinated delivery of the boxes.

“Participation in the Shoebox Project allowed Cabinet members the opportunity to take a brief break from University business and make a meaningful contribution to the community we serve,” SECC/Milwaukee Partners In Giving Campus Coordinator Deidre Merritt said.
