Shelly Schnupp, M.P.A.

Shelly Schnupp currently serves as the associate director of the Helen Bader Institute for Nonprofit Management at UWM – managing projects designed to further the Institute’s mission of improving the leadership and effectiveness of nonprofit organizations through education, research and service. She is also the vice president of the Wisconsin Nonprofits Association.

Shelly is president of SMS and Associates, a firm devoted to building capacity of nonprofit organizations to achieve their missions. Her work in nonprofit planning and administration spans over twenty-five years. She has accumulated a unique blend of experience working with grant makers and seekers on the local, regional and national levels. 

Through her professional and volunteer work, Shelly has developed strong skills and offers training and technical assistance in the following: organizational assessment and planning; program development and analysis; performance measurement; grant making, proposal writing and reporting; board governance; and advocacy.
