Mary Lee Spitz is a licensed occupational therapist in the state of Wisconsin. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in OT at Mount Mary College, Milwaukee, WI in 1978 and a Masters in Education from Carroll College, Waukesha, WI in 1995.
Ms. Spitz has worked and taught in physical rehabilitation services, biofeedback, Diversability/Sensitivity training, and lifting and handling techniques. Her experience includes working with wellness and disability populations. Mary Lee began her career full-time at Sacred Heart Rehabilitation hospital in Milwaukee, WI, later serving as pool therapist and consultant and retired from this clinic in 1998. During that time she also consulted for area nursing homes, clinics, private individuals, and area schools. She began teaching as an ad hoc instructor in the OT department at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1984. Mary Lee joined the Center for Transportation Education at UWM in 1987 as part of the Passenger Assistance training program and has been a part of the “Train the Trainer” proficiency team since 1988.
Mary Lee began teaching part-time at Mount Mary College in 1989. She was hired full-time in 1995 and continued until making the decision to retire from teaching in May 2002. She taught courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Currently, she is an independent consultant, a national speaker and is involved with the application of electro-therapeutic trigger-point stimulation (neuron-mechanical acupuncture).
