Jim Baumann is a Special Assistant in the Bureau of Watershed Management of the Department of Natural Resources. He has been with the Department for more than 33 years. Much of his time in the past years has been coordinating the development of phosphorus water quality standards criteria for lakes and streams and the WPDES permit effluent limits procedures. His career has involved development and implementation of nonpoint source priority watershed projects and development of TMDL. Current responsibilities also include oversight of a PCB removal project in Calumet County, the Department representative to the Upper Mississippi River Basin Association water quality task force, and consultant to the Office of the Great Lakes.
