David Troness

David Troness has more than 25 years of experience in a wide variety of roles and industries, within small companies and larger ones like Intel, Ford and Honeywell. With a bachelor’s degree in psychology and social work and a master’s degree in engineering, he is interested in exploring technical as well as non-technical issues. David began studying and using TRIZ in the mid-1990s with several TRIZ masters from the former Soviet Union. Many successful pilot projects within Intel set the stage for deployment across all of their manufacturing sites and the establishment of more than 100 certified TRIZ practitioners. Within Honeywell Aerospace, numerous applications of TRIZ have demonstrated the potential to completely eliminate problems instead of only achieving incremental improvements, which often lead to invention disclosures. Starting in the fall of 2013, David will be an adjunct professor within the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at Arizona State University, teaching Systematic Innovation.
