Dr. William Huxhold

Dr. William Huxhold has strong interests in the field of urban geographic information systems. Before arriving at UWM in 1990, he was MIS Project Director for the City of Milwaukee, responsible for the development of information systems for the city. In 1975, he established and directed the nation’s first computer graphics based Geographic Information System for the City of Milwaukee. He has published three books on GIS and teaches three GIS courses in Urban Planning. Huxhold is chair of the UWM Certificate in Urban Geographic Information Systems Program, as well as the URISA GIS Certification Committee. He is also a member of a number of editorial boards, including the International Journal of Geographic Information Systems.
