University Community Orchestra

This ensemble invites advanced beginners or skilled amateurs (ages 14 and older) to rehearse and perform together. It is open to anyone who can read music and enjoys playing classical symphonic repertoire. UWM professor emeritus Margery Deutsch supervises weekly rehearsals with her conducting staff.

The first night of the session is an organizational meeting and rehearsal that all members must attend. YOU DO NOT NEED TO BRING YOUR INSTRUMENT TO THIS MEETING.  Music is handed out, and if you are interested in auditioning for a leadership chair, you can sign up for an appointment at this time. Seating audition material will be taken from the concert music for the semester, and auditions will be held during the second class. You are not required to audition to be in this group!

Concert: Sunday, Dec. 6, 7:30pm, Zelazo Center for the Performing Arts

Contact Margery Deutsch at uco@uwm.edu or 414-229-4609 as soon as possible  to let her know what instrument you play and what part you prefer (e.g. violin 2, flute 1, viola).
