BIO

James Tarantino is the Economic Development Director of Milwaukee County. Focusing on macro-economic issues that have a regional impact, James is involved with a variety of planning initiatives in the larger Milwaukee area such as workforce development, business expansions, and long range planning. From 2010 to 2015, Mr. Tarantino was the Executive Director of the Gateway to Milwaukee, a redevelopment agency that manages two Business Improvement Districts, a Business Association, and a regional economic development initiative known as Aerotropolis Milwaukee. Other positions that James Tarantino has served as over the recent years include Director of Milwaukee Area Workforce Funding Alliance, Director of UW-Milwaukee Alumni Association, and Regional Transit Leadership Council member.
