“A Regional Waterfront Investment Strategy” presentation by Gregg Calpino, Regional Practice Center Leader for Planning and Landscape Architecture at SEH, Inc.

Gregg addresss the redevelopment of Lake Michigan’s industrialized south shore in NW Indiana, attributed to the implementation of the holistic Marquette plan, in a way that is transferable to Milwaukee and other urban waterfronts on the Great Lakes.

BIO

Gregg E. Calpino, ASLA, LEED BD+C, NCI is an award-winning landscape architect and a 1988 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is a Regional Practice Center Leader for Planning and Landscape Architecture at SEH, Inc. and has implemented more than $200 million in parks, trails and civic spaces throughout the Midwest. Gregg has been the Project Director for many complex, high profile waterfront initiatives including the Cleveland Waterfront District Plan, The Marquette Plan – Indiana’s Lakeshore Reinvestment Strategy, Portage Lakefront and Riverwalk and Chicago’s Lincoln Park, South Lakefront and Northerly Island Framework Plans. Gregg’s most recent waterfront efforts include Chippewa Falls, La Crosse, Onalaska and Fish Creek, WI, East Chicago, Portage and Hammond, IN and Cloquet, MN. Gregg is a registered landscape architect in Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota and Colorado, a LEED Accredited Professional and certified charrette facilitator from the National Charrette Institute. He has presented at numerous national and regional conferences and has been a guest lecturer at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
