UrbPlan 810 Planning Policy Analysis (PPA)
PPA is a six-credit required class in which students quickly work in small teams to solve real problems of live clients. Each fall four new clients appear serially to challenge students and await recommendations. Recent clients have had students examine questions such as, “How can UWM’s transportation system be made more sustainable?” “What initial project should be selected to build the Milwaukee regional hospitality industry workforce?” “What should be the key ingredients for the Southeastern Wisconsin ‘M7 counties’ Transformative Productivity Initiative for Manufacturing?” and “What should the Wisconsin Avenue Milwaukee Development Corporation do immediately to generate more activity on West Wisconsin Avenue?”
