In 1993, Jeannie was a member of the original task force that successfully petitioned the Aurora Board of Directors to establish the Burlington Wellness Center. She also worked with the school district administrators and community groups to win the referendum and build the New Burlington High School. Other civic accomplishments include organizing the reopening of the Burlington Teen Center, where she served as coordinator for five years; founding the Burlington Senior Citizens Center in 1994; securing the commitment for the Gateway Technical Center and McCanna drive entrance; and leading a community drive that led to placing defibrillators in police cars in the city and town of Burlington.
