Course Duration

The course duration is approximately 10 to 30 minutes of officer’s knowledge and videos.

Course Goal

The goal of this training is to provide a basic understanding in how to survive an Active Shooter Incident. The training covers the following topics:

  • What you can do to survive
  • Law Enforcement response

Target Audience

This course is intended for UWM Campus Community (Faculty, Staff, and Students) to provide them necessary information to prepare and survive a potential active shooter situation.


This course includes videos, handouts and an answer/ question session.

Course Objectives

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Know what to do to survive
  • Know what officers will do upon arrival to scene
