Most objects in space are dim and devoid of color to the naked eye. It is only with the help of modern telescopes that we can truly appreciate these gems. Even in our own solar system, we have captured amazing textures and colors with the help of satellites and spacecraft. Using astronomical tools we will observe objects such as the Eagle nebula, exoplanets and the Sombrero galaxy.

We will also explore the connection between art and space through artists like Chesley Bonestell and Paul Calle, who were inspired the space age. Today’s artists help us imagine distant exoplanets, black hole mergers and scenes from our own solar system.
