UWM Receives Top Research Rating From Carnegie

The University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee research efforts have been rewarded with the highest rating (R1) from the Carnegie Classification of Institutions or Higher Learning. UWM Associate Professor of Physics Xavier Siemens, a member of the Leonard E. Parker Center for Gravitation, Cosmology & Astrophysics discussed his research projects and grant awards that have been enabled by UWM support. Dr. Marija Gajdardziska-Josifovska, Professor of Physics and Dean of the UWM Graduate School, noted that the top level research rating will be a benefit for attracting high quality students and faculty.
