Sign up to become a volunteer at the 2017 Panther Prowl!
The Panther Prowl 5K is not a success without the help of our wonderful students and community. We have lead volunteers from UWM’s University Recreation, Panther Athletics, and College of Health Sciences, but extra help is always needed!
Mark the route for the 5K race the day before/morning of the event (weather depending).
Direct our runners/walkers at the proper turns along the race. Provide water at designated water stations along turns.
Mark the route for the Kids’ Dash the morning of the event and assist with overall management of races for our toddler (ages 5 and under) and kid (6-12) participants.
Chaperone and assist with kids’ area – face painting, coloring activities, & inflatables.
Prepare fruit and water bottles the morning of the race. Hand out to runners/walkers as they finish.
Help hand out race packets to registrants. Volunteers will be asked to choose a 2-hour time slot to assist with packet pick-up and registration. Time slots available from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Friday, October 6 and 8:30 – 9:45 a.m. on race day.
At each mile marker, we will have a UWM photo booth for participants to take photos and share on social media. Volunteering here consists of setting up booth, take photos as necessary, and cheer on runners/walkers.
Set up trophies by age group. Once participants finish, hand out trophies to top finishers.
Help clean up at the conclusion of event.
