Current Research

Targeting Parent-Child Interaction to Promote the Health Development of Infants in the Motor Domain The objective of this study is to empirically demonstrate the significance of both presence and quality of the parent-child interaction to infant motor performance. Specifically, it will demonstrate that when infants receive responsive maternal interaction during supported stepping, they will take more steps than when they do not receive this responsive interaction. Also, it will demonstrate that infants of mothers who are highly sensitive and responsive in their interactions will have a higher frquency of interaction initiations during the motor task.
