Workshop: strategies for improving student research

Learn strategies to improve course assignment handouts and better guide student research at the UWM Libraries’ Digital Humanities Lab on Aug. 23 at 10 a.m.

Project Information Literacy, a large-scale, national research project, found that many research assignment handouts do not adequately guide students. Few handouts direct students to resources like librarians and scholarly databases, and the study found that 84% of the students surveyed said “the most difficult step of the course-related research process is getting started.” A well-designed research assignment can help address student needs.

No registration is required for this workshop. Participants should bring a course assignment to workshop.
