The UWM community is invited to a vigil at 4 p.m. today in Spaights Plaza in remembrance of the victims of recent terrorist attacks in Paris, Beirut, Egypt, Syria and Tunisia.
In a statement to the campus, UWM Chancellor Mark Mone said, “I know that we are all shocked and deeply saddened by this tragedy. On behalf of UW-Milwaukee, I express our sympathy and support for all Parisians and French citizens and their families.”
The city of Milwaukee is planning a vigil at 5:15 p.m. today at the southeast corner of Water and Wells streets.
In addition, several civic groups are arranging for the mini-Eiffel Tower normally on display at Bastille Days to be erected today at Milwaukee’s City Hall.
The death toll in the multiple terrorist attacks in Paris has reached 129.
