UWM film student, prof to present work in Toronto, New York

The work of a UWM film student will be featured at two prestigious and selective North American platforms for avant-garde film and video, and he’ll be joined at one by a UWM assistant professor.

Grad student Sky Hopinka and Jesse McLean will present their work at the Projections portion of the New York Film Festival in October. McLean will premiere her work “See a Dog, Hear a Dog,” while Hopinka will present his film “Jáaji Approx.”

Hopinka will also present in the Wavelengths portion of the Toronto International Film Festival in September. He’ll show his most recent work, “I’ll Remember You as You Were, Not as What You’ll Become.”

In addition, a UWM undergrad, Grace Mitchell, recently screened her video “Ilse, Irene” as part of the Video! Video! Video! Festival in Chicago.
