Every year, architecture students build conceptual models of chairs, which are then critiqued by experts in the field. It’s training for the type of exercise they’ll undergo with regularity when they become architects or designers.
When the chairs were on display in the School of Architecture and Urban Planning, children from the UWM Children’s Center saw them and wanted to build their own. So they did, using recyclable materials on hand. And this time, the architecture students got to be the ones doing the critiquing.
