Spirit Days bring out UWM’s Panther pride

The UWM Alumni Association designates Black & Gold Spirit Days, when the campus and alumni worldwide celebrate their pride in UW-Milwaukee.

Offices compete to show the most spirit, participating in campus activities during the week leading up to and including Spirit Day. Activities this fall included carving a pumpkin, posing with the UWM Panther statue, appearing underwater and riding the campus’ new Bublr bikes. More than 120 entries were submitted during fall 2015 Spirit Days. The Student Success Center won the competition on Oct. 7, and the African American Student Academic Services, College of Nursing and Office of Undergraduate Admissions topped the charts on Nov. 6.

Four more Black & Gold Spirit Days are left in the 2015-16 academic year:

  • Friday, Feb. 19
  • Thursday, March 24
  • Friday, April 8
  • Tuesday, May 10
