Student Food Insecurity World Café
April 26 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
At one time or another, 50% of students have experienced not having enough food for themselves, and 38.9% of students have cut meals sizes or skipped meals because they don’t have money for food.
At this event, the Student Association will discuss campus food pantries, resources for students, causes of food insecurity and solutions to end campus hunger. Student, faculty, staff and community member input is welcome.
Jed Richardson, acting director of the Wisconsin HOPE Lab, will address student food insecurity and the work his organization does to address it. The lab aims to assist students from low‐income households, students of color and first-generation college students, so that they have the same opportunities to succeed in postsecondary education.
