Mission

The mission of the Movement Analysis for Biomedical Innovation & Technology (Mobility) Laboratory is to advance quantitative rehabilitation research for improving health and function of persons with disabilities.

Goals & Information

The Mobility Laboratory is located in the UW-Milwaukee Innovation Campus Accelerator Building. The Lab is adjacent to the Milwaukee Regional Medical Center, an ideal location for rehabilitation research. It is fully accessible to individuals with disability, and houses state-of-the-art equipment for quantitative biomechanical assessment of human movement.

The lab is home to a motion capture system that is synchronized with sensors to calculate movements and forces of the body. Our work provides comprehensive joint kinematics, joint kinetics, and muscle activity data during human movement. We also conduct gait analysis, balance, and strength assessment in pediatric and adult populations with disability. Our specialization is in preventing shoulder injuries and secondary medical conditions in manual wheelchair users across the lifespan.
