Explore the path to article publication – from manuscript preparation through citation and discovery.
The UWM Libraries and Mary Ann Liebert, Inc. invite you to learn about the process of scholarly research publication. Join us on May 19 for an insider’s perspective on the journey from submission to publication and discovery, and insight on how collaborative efforts facilitate the dissemination of the scientific research that is conducted on our campus.
Publishing professional Wendy Newsham will explain the process step-by-step including a variety of workflows and timelines. Wendy has worked in publishing for 25 years managing the process from end-to-end. Select topics include:
Publishing your Dissertation or Thesis; Submission workflow & peer review; Copyediting/author proofing; Author rights; Funder mandates; Page production – images, figures, tables, supplemental info, etc.; Your ORCID ID; Open Access papers and Article Processing Charges; Publishing service platforms; Citations – Tracking – Impact Factor; more.
This onsite workshop will give you the opportunity to enrich your understanding of the process and energize your summer research. Coffee and refreshments will be included as well as a robust Q&A and reference materials. This free event is open to all area faculty, staff, students and alumni. Register online to secure your seat.
