Art and Fair Use Workshop
December 15 @ 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM
Please join us for a workshop that explores how artists (and everyone else) can reuse and transform materials to make new work, and how fair use does and doesn’t apply.
Tomas Lipinksi, an expert in intellectual property law and Dean of the UWM School of Information Studies, will use examples from courts cases – drawn from the headlines – involving use of video and music clips, posters, photographs and works of appropriation art. Artists from the Look Here! project will provide immediately relevant use cases to explore.
When: Friday, December 15th, 10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Where: UWM Libraries Digital Humanities Lab (2nd floor east)
Please RSVP by December 8, 2017.
