Digital Humanities Lab Teaching Fellows and Linked Teaching Teams Award

The UWM Libraries Digital Humanities Lab announces a call for applications for a new award intended to encourage faculty and instructors to share their DH-inflected assignments via workshops and documentation.

The award encourages both individual applications and linked teaching teams.

The application deadlineis March 30, 2018.

The DH Lab Teaching Fellows and Linked Teaching Teams Award provides an incentive for faculty, instructors, and teaching assistants to share innovative assignments that integrate digital humanities tools and methods.

Applicants can apply as individuals or in teams of two (Linked Teaching Teams). Each fellow will be awarded $500 toward Supplies and Expenses (S&E) to use as they see fit.

For individual applicants: Fellows will be expected to include an assignment incorporating DH tools and methods in a class they are teaching for the Fall 2018 semester, to share their experience through a workshop and discussion in the DH Lab in Spring 2019, and to document their assignment, resources, and learning outcomes to be shared on the DH Lab website.

For teams of two: Linked Teaching Teams are defined here as two instructors from different departments teaching two different classes that are informally “linked” through collaborative interventions that enrich the learning experiences and outcomes of each class. For the purpose of the DH Lab Teaching Fellows award, these interventions would include the use of DH tools and methods across those classes during the Fall 2018 semester. Teams will be expected to share their experience through a workshop and discussion in the DH Lab in Spring 2019, and to document their assignments, resources, and learning outcomes to be shared on the DH Lab website.

Eligibility: UWM faculty, teaching academic staff, and graduate teaching assistants are eligible for the awards.
