UWM Authors Recognition Ceremony Underscores UWM Research Excellence

Honoring UWM authors, and the concrete evidence—their books—that they provide of UWM’s research excellence (recently confirmed by the university’s inclusion in the Carnegie Classification’s top US research institutions), the UWM Libraries will host its biennial celebration of UWM faculty and staff who have recently published monographs or recorded media, on March 7 at 4 p.m. in the fourth floor Conference Center of the Golda Meir Library.

Co-sponsored by the Graduate School, the UWM Authors Recognition Ceremony recognizes authors whose work has been added to the UWM Authors Collection since the previous ceremony in 2015.

These works, located in Special Collections, now number over 3,075 and are an important part of the Libraries’ holdings, documenting the intellectual heritage of the university and the impressive contributions of UWM faculty and staff to contemporary scholarship.

The ceremony also marks the official launch of the UWM Authors Browsing Collection in the first floor Daniel M. Soref Learning Commons, featuring selected books published since 2011 that may be browsed or checked out.

The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.

Accommodations for people with disabilities can be made if requested ahead of time by calling 414-229-6202.
