Dr. Rachel Weber is a Professor of Urban Planning and Policy and a Faculty Fellow at the Great Cities Institute at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Her latest book, From Boom to Bubble: How Finance Built the New Chicago (University of Chicago Press, 2015) received the 2017 Best Book in Urban Affairs award from the Urban Affairs Association. She will present the main arguments from her recent book on the “financialization” of urban development.

A reception will follow the talk.
