Korean 101

First semester Korean introduces students to Korean language and culture by providing language materials in which various aspects of Korean culture are centered. The main objective of Korean 101 is to help students develop effective basic daily communication skills in Korean through the development of the four language skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing).

Korean 102

The object of the second semester Korean is to equip students with communicative skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing; students will learn how to suggest an idea, talk about their free time activities, and make appointments. During the course, students will learn useful facts about Korean culture and daily life.

Korean 201

Third semester Korean is designed to develop novice-high level skills of speaking, listening, reading, writing, and grammar in Korean. This class will focus on the grammar and expressions that are commonly used by Korean speakers; students will learn how to order food at a restaurant, give an excuse, describe routines, talk about past activities, and ask and give directions. During the course, students will learn useful facts bout Korean culture and daily life.

Korean 202

Fourth semester Korean is designed to help students improve all aspects of language learning at the intermediate-low level in Korean. Students will learn how to use the forms of impolite speech, describe past experience, and express supposition. The instructor will use Korean as much as possible, and the use of English will be limited only when grammar points are explained.
