People need to know that after their accounts are de-provisioned, their data goes away and can not be recovered. Thus departments need to be sure to grant access to others or store data in shared locations to continue business practices.
People want to know how long they have to get their email and files after they end their employment.
Employees and students get at least to the next
de-provision (other relationships could keep their account active longer),
late December or May.
For sponsored guests (this might cover people who weren’t being paid by
UWM) will lose access to office 365 when their sponsorship expires,
but the account will still be there until the next de-provision. So they
could be re-sponsored to give them access again.
Is there a generally quotable length of time that accounts remain active?
Until late December or May. We generally freeze the de-provision lists in April and November, so that people who leave at the end of April or November would get until
the following de-provision.
If former employees were instructors of record (per PAWS) in at least one class, they will retain their accounts for approximately one year after the last semester they taught.
