The management and operation of the UWM High Performance Computing Service is overseen by three layers of governance:

• The Sponsors of the service are the vice chancellor for research, the deans of the schools/colleges using the cluster and the CIO. They are responsible for evaluating and assessing the service and have the authority to approve service levels, costs and associated risks.
• A Governance Group is responsible for meeting the prioritized needs of the researchers within the constraints of the resource. This group is comprised primarily of faculty representatives from the participating schools/colleges and representatives from University Information Technology Services (UITS).
• A Cluster Support Group is responsible for the overseeing the routine operation of the service and recommending major changes in configuration or operation to the Governance Group. This group is comprised of the Cyberinfrastructure Facilitators from the participating schools/colleges and representatives from UITS.
